We are pleased to announce that Sarasota Garden Club will be holding its FLOWER SHOW in October 2023!
LAST YEAR’S FLOWER SHOW (Oct 2022) was entitled “GARDEN TO TABLE” and highlighted the beauty and bounty of our gardens for all to see and enjoy in a (FFGC: Standard) Flower Show. It showed permaculture, herbs, artistic floral interpretations and unusual horticulture from our members and invited guests. The Flower Show won an Award from the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.
Just a small selection of the entrants of last year’s Flower Show.
PLANNING STARTS NOW: please get involved / come to the 1st Planning Meeting on May 17th to find out what’s involved and how you may be able to participate. It’s a LOT of fun!
Preparations for these key events start well in advance – and we’d like to invite as many of our members as possible to join in on the planning and execution of the event NOW, and over the summer, as well as enjoying the event on the day.
- To find out what it’s all about, and how you may be able to help, come to this planning meeting.
No prior Flower Show experience is needed; we all have hidden skills. We are looking for members who (but not exclusively):
- are willing to participate with a team and want to have FUN – THAT’S KEY!
- have experience OR want to learn about flower shows
- are willing to write, read, and edit material to promote the event
- are creative OR ARE NOT creative
- have graphic design experience, can develop logos
- can think of cute themes and titles
Everybody’s input is welcome and appreciated. Join the meeting, hear what’s being said, and help where you can.
THANK YOU
